Join the Naval Postgraduate School, the U.S. Partnership for Peace Training and Education Center (USPTC), and the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) in welcoming speaker Dr. Bakyt Beshimov, who will speak about culture, democracy, and rule of law in Kyrgyzstan during the “Global Problems and Solutions Colloquium: Nation Building.”

Dr. Beshimov is a former Member of Parliament and deputy chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan.  As a prominent opposition leader and current visiting professor at Harvard University and MIT, his work focuses on security studies and relationships of big power interests in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
