Working with us

There are three primary ways to work with the Center for Defense Management Research:

Sponsoring a research project

Direct sponsors may be DoD entities, other government organizations, or private (corporate or non-profit) organizations. All projects begin with a thorough needs assessment, by appropriate CDMR research associates, to establish the research objectives of the project. Sponsors can expect well designed research engagements, regular progress reports, and timely delivery of reports.

Working as a research associate

CDMR is interested in top researchers and consultants in a variety of areas related to defense management reform, including financial management, organizational behavior, management communication, logistics, acquisition, contracting, and information systems. We seek associates who are committed to conducting theory-driven research, in applied settings, that is accessible to practitioners.

Conducting research as a student intern

To qualify as an intern for CDMR projects, you must be enrolled in a business or public policy graduate program in an accredited university. Interns work closely with CDMR research associates on various projects related to defense management reform. To be considered for one of our internships, students must submit a research writing sample, a faculty letter of recommendation, and a current resume or vita.
