If an item you are interested in borrowing is already checked out, you may place a hold or a recall on the item. For NPS personnel, items may be recalled from the current user provided the current user has had the item a minimum of two (2) weeks. Most other patrons are not eligible to request recalls and may only place holds on items - an email notification will be sent when the user has voluntarily returned the item (please note that the wait may be up to 90 days).
To place a hold (or a recall) for an item:
*For NPS personnel, your User Name (ALT ID) is your Network login name entered in UPPER CASE. If you find that your User Name does not work please contact the Circulation Desk at (831) 656-2947 or email email@example.com. Library users who are not NPS personnel can contact the Circulation Desk to set up a User Name.
**Your Password (PIN) is a randomly generated (usually 4-digit) number written on the back of your library card. For Distance Learning students, this information should have been provided by email at the time your library account was created. If you do not have your PIN information, please contact the Circulation desk at (831) 656-2947 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
