Research Interests
Systems and systems-of-systems (SoS) architecture, naval construction and engineering, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, naval systems engineering, naval surface combatant and submarine design and production, robust design and production, submarine propulsion systems, electric power systems engineering, computer and internet-aided product development, multidisciplinary design optimization, and multiple criteria decision making.
Teaching Interests
Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in naval architecture and marine engineering and systems engineering.
Developing and teaching via distributed learning over the web.
Developed and teach Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, and Champion courses, as well as Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) courses for shipbuilding industry.
Developed and teach Naval Systems Architecture and Naval Systems Engineering courses for US Navy acquisition personnel and government contractors.
