When entering a new record from scratch, you will be added to the first author position by default, first field on the left.  If the first author is not at NPS, you can delete your name by clicking the small circle with the X, and then enter the author's name using the First, Middle and Last name fields.  When done with the first author, click the Add button to add a second (or more if you change the value in the drop down menu next to the Add button) line.  You can either select a person, including yourself, from the drop down menu or enter a non-NPS user in the name fields.
