Naval Postgraduate School provides relevant and unique advance education and research programs in order to increase the effectiveness of US and Allied armed forces, diplomacy and enhance the security of the United States. The CCS is based on the premise that the United States cannot win the trust and confidence of the international community if we don’t understand them and their desires and the belief that the United States must understand the cultures and societies of the world to effectively interact with local people. Our program is dedicated to the study of anthropological, ethnographic, social, political, and economic data to better inform US policies at both the strategic and operational levels. The CCS desires to actively engage the academic community and general public for information, criticism, and suggestions concerning our program. We are open source and open access for the benefit of providing greater levels of knowledge towards those seeking development in US foreign policy and operations.
