Network Integration of Bio-Inspired MEMS Acoustic Vector Sensors (AVS) for Counter UAS Target Acquisition –Phase II

Carl Oros

Problem Statement

Tactical operators and their autonomous systems, require small form factor, low power, distributed networked acoustic sensors capable of long-range detection of threat UAS systems to support timely C2 decision making and collaborative engagement.

Phase II of this research is intended to complete the major goals of phase I, namely, (1) testing an array of fabricated acoustic sensors linked via a tactical wireless mesh network in the lab and field, and (2) developing distributed triangulation algorithms to support target track creation, prediction, and display on each sensor node.
