The Department of Acquisition, Finance and Manpower (DAFM) celebrated its latest class of graduates last week with a flurry of university and departmental awards.
Special shout-out to LT Spenser James Harris, USN, who is one of the most recognized graduates in the history of the 837 Financial Management program. In addition to the departmental Euske medal, Conrad award and Outstanding thesis, his work was recognized with three NPS-wide awards: the Gary Laughlin Patriot Award, the Naval Postgraduate School Superior Service Award, and the Surface Navy Association’s Award for Excellence in Surface Warfare Research.
DAFM warrior-scholars conduct research that addresses real world challenges affecting the US military. As they go forward to their next leadership commands, their degrees and awards recognize the contributions that they have already made to accelerating warfighting capability to the Fleet and Joint Force.
