Submissions are now open for papers and panels for the NPS 24th Annual Acquisition Research Symposium & Innovation Summit, taking place May 12 & 13, 2027, in Monterey, California. 

Fielding critical capabilities faster and at scale is essential to U.S. strategic advantage, military readiness, and national security. Meeting that imperative is a defining challenge for the defense acquisition enterprise. 

Centered on the theme “Delivering Warfighting Capability,” this year’s event will examine the policies, practices, partnerships, and technologies needed to secure warfighting advantage at the speed and scale of relevance. 

The Acquisition Research Symposium & Innovation Summit serves as a catalyst for meaningful progress and informed change in defense acquisition. The event brings together academic researchers, acquisition professionals, industry representatives, and defense leaders for two days of exploration, discovery, and dialogue intended to inform acquisition policy and modernization efforts. 

This year’s program will explore how the defense acquisition ecosystem can strengthen readiness, deter adversaries, and increase warfighting capability by revitalizing the defense industrial base, reforming acquisition processes, accelerating the transition of emerging technologies, and expanding the capacity to field and sustain effective solutions. 

We welcome paper and panel proposals examining any aspect of “Big A” acquisition related to delivering warfighting capability.
