Navy Energy Coordination Office - The Navy's Vision for Energy Independence

February 22, 2013
ME Auditorium

RCAPT James C. Goudreau

Navy Energy Coordination Office

The Navy requires tremendous energy to operate its bases, ships, boats, planes and terrestrial vehicles. To reduce future operating costs and reduce greenhouse emissions, the Navy is investigating a wide range of options. These options include renewable energy sources, including wind, solar and biofuels, as well as nuclear energy. In some cases, conservation is the best strategy, noting that substantial energy is required for building climate control. During the seminar, those technologies and initiatives of specific interest to the N45 organization will be discussed.

Captain Goudreau is a native of Wilbraham, Massachusetts.  He was commissioned as an Ensign in the Supply Corps through the Reserve Officers Training Corps at Norwich University in 1990, and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.
