Dr. Patrick Gambrel is a Senior Lecturer for the International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) Program within the Institute of Security Governance, Defense Security Cooperation Agency. He joined the IDARM Program in April 2018, but has routinely taught for the program since 2008. Pat has 35 years of defense industry experience at Pratt & Whitney Military Engines that includes 17 years of international defense acquisition experience in support of U.S. security assistance and cooperation initiatives. His most recent position at Pratt & Whitney was Deputy Director of International Programs where he was responsible for leading the International Programs team in the development and management of fighter engine programs for international air forces worldwide. Prior to this position, Pat served in both program manager and business development roles and has extensive international experience with customers in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and South America. Pat also served as an adjunct faculty member at Southern New Hampshire University and at the University of New Haven, teaching international business courses in their respective graduate business school programs. Pat holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Masters and Doctorate degrees in Business from Nova Southeastern University, and an M.A. in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University. He is also a graduate of the U.S. DoD Defense Acquisition University Advanced Program Management Course.
