Ms. Samantha Schwellenbach serves as faculty associate for the International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) Program at the Institute for Security Governance. She joined the IDARM program in 2009 and has since helped execute numerous defense acquisition courses in the United States and overseas. She teaches and conducts research in the area of procurement and contracting. Her research areas of interest include foreign military sales, contracting for services, and defense project management. She supports development of strategic methods for managing the department’s contracting process, provides technical support in the development of contract requirements and during contract performance. She served as a contracting officer’s representative on several multi-million dollar contracts. In addition to teaching, she serves as the project lead for IDARM global resident courses and program engagements in the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), U.S. European Command (EUCOM), and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) areas of responsibility. She completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science, with a certificate in International Studies from Arizona State University and earned her Master of Business Administration with a specialization in acquisition and contract management from the Naval Postgraduate School. She is an active member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA).
