Magdi N. Kamel is an Associate Professor of Information Systems in the Information Sciences Department of the Graduate School of Defense Management (GSDM) at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Dr. Kamel also serves as a Guest Lecturer for the International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) Program within the Institute for Security Governance (ISG), Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Decision Sciences with emphasis on Management Information Systems from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kamel main research interest is in the analysis, design and implementation of computer-based information systems. Specifically, he is interested in data modeling; b2b and b2c e-commerce, decision support and knowledge-based systems, enterprise resource planning, supply chain management and acquisition systems. He also has a secondary interest in project management and systems engineering. Dr. Kamel has lectured and consulted in these areas for numerous Department of Defense and government organizations, and is the author of numerous published journal and conference research papers on these topics. He is a recent recipient of a Fulbright Senior Scholar grant for teaching and research.
