BUILDING NATIONAL RESILIENCE IN BULGARIA

In partnership with United States European Command (USEUCOM) and the Government of Bulgaria, ISG recently convened a workshop in Sofia to fortify Bulgaria's public-private partnerships (PPPs) in support of national resilience. The collaborative event – hosted by the NATO Crisis Management and Disaster Response (CMDR) Center of Excellence (COE) – gathered key stakeholders from Bulgarian national ministries and institutions as well as international partners to engage in strategic planning and Institutional Capacity Building (ICB).

ISG IDARM team conducts “Principles of Defense Acquisition Management” Resident Course

The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) team convened a two-week resident course entitled “Principles of Defense Acquisition Management” from 24 February – 6 March 2020.  Hosted at ISG headquarters in Monterey, California, instructors worked alongside participants to explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of defense acquisition and logistics decision making.

ISG IDARM team conducts "Principles of Defense Procurement and Contracting" Resident Course

The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) team conducted the “Principles of Defense Procurement and Contracting” resident course from 9-17 March 2020. Hosted at ISG headquarters in Monterey, California, instructors worked alongside participants to explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of the pre-award, award, and post award phases the contracting process. International best practices were examined along with the challenges associated with institutionalizing efficient and effective procurement processes.

ISG IDARM team completes Logistics and Life Cycle Management course in Brazil

The ISG International Defense Acquisition and Resource Management (IDARM) team has completed a two-week Logistics and Life Cycle Management course with our partners in Brazil.  This course, with military and their civilian counterparts participating, is the fourth in a series that is supporting the Brazilian military in this area and designed to support the long-term development of its logistics and broad life-cycle management.

Executive Program on Defense Decision-Making Completed

The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) wrapped up a ten-day, senior leader seminar on Defense Decision-Making last week.  Conducted in Monterey at ISG Headquarters, 22 senior, interagency leaders from fifteen partner nations participated in the course.  The seminar centered on empowering personnel with knowledge and increased skills to be more effective decision-makers and act as change agents to enhance and enable their defense and security institutions to address evolving national security challenges.

The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) is humbled and proud to accept the Secretary of Defense Award for Excellence in Maintenance Training, Advice, and Assistance of Foreign Security Forces – Ministerial Category.  ISG is being recognized, along with our partners in the EUCOM Directorate of Policy, Strategy, Partnering, and Capabilities, for its work on Sustainment Planning with one of our important European partners.

An ISG Team supported the annual multinational peacekeeping exercise Khaan Quest 2019 from 14-28 June near the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar featuring participation of more than 1,700 peacekeepers from 38 countries.
