§ 8551. "The Secretary of the Navy may enter into a contract or other agreement with one or more eligible nonprofit organizations for the design, construction, and maintenance of a multipurpose facility to be known as the ‘Naval Innovation Center’ (NIC) and to be located at the United States Naval Postgraduate School."

Our innovation cycle is grounded in a 5-step process that is being scaled across DoD. At NPS, our operationally experienced students inform the innovation process. The Naval Warfare Studies Institute at NPS works with the fleet to identify and curate problems in collaboration with the NPS Office of Research and Innovation (OR&I). Together with partners from industry, NPS innovation moves research concepts from idea to impact.
