Lieutenant Colonel Michael Kelly McCoy is a U.S. Army Strategist assigned to the Naval Postgraduate School as the Strategy Chair within the National Security Affairs Department. His previous experience includes serving as a strategist for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command and as a theater strategist at geographic Combatant Command. Throughout these experiences, Kelly has led multiple joint, interagency, and multi-national planning teams developing strategic and operational plans. LTC McCoy has also served 41 months in support of Operation New Dawn, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. He holds a dual Bachelors of Art in Legal Studies and Peace Studies from Chapman University and a Master's in Public Administration from the George Washington University. He has been published in Military Review, War on the Rocks, and Modern War Institute.
