Focus Areas - Office of Warfare Studies
The Critical Thinking and Judgment (CT&J) branch builds on the ideas, research, and work that applies interdisciplinary concepts on thinking, learning, and strategy to warfighters, warfighting, and leading warfighting organizations.
Our unwavering focus at the Wargaming Center is on designing and executing data-driven, mobile wargames that provide our sponsors with the decisive strategic advantages needed to outmaneuver adversaries and safeguard our nation's interests.
The Concepts branch leverages our strength – our operationally experienced students and defense-expert faculty – to address complex fleet issues and discover opportunities available through emerging technologies.
Within Warfighting Development, the Office of Warfare Studies supports the Naval Education Enterprise and the Naval Research and Development Establishment along three lines of effort: people, concepts, and capabilities.
Warfighter support coordinated with our warfare chairs enables NPS and the Office of Warfare Studies to take concepts developed by our teams and collaborate with teams across our joint forces.
