Dr. Michael Hesse serves as Vice Provost for Research and Innovation (VPRI) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), where he provides strategic leadership for the university’s research enterprise. In this role, he oversees the development and execution of research priorities that advance the Navy, Marine Corps, and Department of Defense.

Dr. Alan Van Nevel is the Associate Provost for Research for the Naval Postgraduate School. In this role he assists with the administration of research activities at NPS, with the goal of accelerating the development of new technology to impact warfare concepts and capabilities.
 

Director, Sponsored Programs Support Office (SPSO)

Kaitie Penry is the inaugural Director of Research Innovation at the Naval Postgraduate School. In this role, she oversees the development of NPS’ enterprise innovation process and prototyping portfolio, supporting the Secretary of the Navy’s initiative to establish the Naval Innovation Center at NPS.
