Launch of Secure Maritime 5G

Yesterday, the Mr. Aaron Weiss, Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Navy, joined representatives of AT&T, AeroVironment, Nauticus Robotics, TMGCore, the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation, the Naval Postgraduate School, and the Sea Land Air Military Research Initiative (SLAMR) for the launch of the U.S. Navy's first 5G capability dedicated to research and development.

Standing, from left to right, are representatives of OPT, AeroVironment, Nauticus Robotics, Inc., TMGcore, and AT&T. Professor Ray Buettner, Director of SLAMR, makes sure AT&T’s robotic dog doesn’t run after any robotic cats or robotic rabbits during the photo opportunity. Those companies, plus Ocean Aero and Kaman Aerospace, are working with SLAMR to accelerate the discovery and transition of technologies in support the U.S. Department of Defense.
