STEM Visits

NPS hosts middle and high school student groups to visit campus and participate in hands-on STEM activities, tour working research labs, and meet NPS STEM experts. Each activity includes a discussion of its connection to real-world naval STEM research. Potential activities include: 3D Printing, Build a Speaker, Build a Telescope, Fly a Drone, Code a Sphero Robot, Analyze Beach Sands, and Design a Hovercraft.

Half- and full-day visits are available for groups of at least 15 students of similar age. If you're interested in a visit, please fill out this form.

DISCOVERY DAY

An immersive STEM event for middle- and high-school students. Students will explore cutting-edge research through hands-on activities in robotics, physics, oceanography, space science, and more. It’s a unique opportunity to experience science and technology in action, guided by experts at the forefront of Naval STEM research.

First Robotics
FIRST® Robotics Programs

NPS faculty and staff members serve as coaches for local high school teams involved in the annual regional and national FIRST Robotics competitions. Students and coaches spent six weeks fabricating unique robotic devices designed to meet each year's challenge.
