Requirement Officer Matrix


In 2017, NPS established the SEA Requirement Officer (RO) Track in order to support the CNO directive to create an educated cadre of Navy ROs. Officers who complete this program earn a Master of Science in Systems Engineering Analysis with extra emphasis on defense acquisition and also are awarded the 6501 P-code. The general RO course matrix is outlined below.

 

Degree Requirements:  36 hours of graduate level course, with at least 12 at the 4000 level.   Completion of Systems Engineering and Analysis course sequences and completion of a 12 hour equivalent team capstone project or a thesis (by exception). 

Allows for seven course Acquisition sequence with DAU PMT 352 A&B and TST 203 and 204 equivalencies.  MN3331 provides DAU ACQ 101, 202, 203 equivalencies, EVM 101 and BCF 103 equivalency, plus PMT 251 and 257 equivalencies.

SE sequence provides DAU level III ENG equivalency. Potential Electives Include:

OA 3401 Human Factors in System Design

SE 4003 Software Systems Engineering

SE 4353 Engineering Risk Management & Analysis

SE 4930 Model Based Systems Engineering

SE 4950 System of Systems Engineering

ME 4751 Combat Survivability, Reliability, and Systems Safety Engineering
