The NPS Climate and Security Network supports the climate and security research and curricular needs of the Navy and DOD.

The Network offers NPS expertise to meet the needs of DOD and the Navy and advances opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and information-sharing. Members include NPS faculty, students and alumni who are engaged in climate and security research and teaching. We also invite external partners to join.

Purpose

• Present NPS collective expertise on climate and security to meet the needs of DOD and the Navy.
• Advance opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and information sharing related to climate and security among NPS and external partners.

Climate Security Defined

Climate security is the interaction of change in global, regional, or local climate patterns and political, military, economic, and social risks/stresses to peace, security, and stability.
