HISTORY OF THE CJCS-APPROVED NPS JOINT EDUCATION ELECTIVES PROGRAM (JEEP) PJE COURSE SEQUENCE

Starting in 1993, the National Security Affairs (NSA) Department began offering course combinations to cover all CJCS PJE Phase One Learning Objectives.

Following a CJCS PAJE Team visit in Fall 1995, CJCS certified that the NPS JEEP course sequence then being taught met all Phase I Program of Joint Education (PJE) requirements, and authorized each Service to grant JPME credit to JEEP graduates.

While the JEEP was certified "as taught," numerous PAJE suggestions to improve the JEEP course series were subsequently implemented.

JEEP courses have undergone further revisions to cover new Phase I PJE Learning Areas and Objectives in the 1 March 96 CJCS Officer Professional Military Education Program (OPMEP).

The JEEP was subsequently renamed the Program for Joint Education (PJE), earned full CJCS PAJE accreditation in July 1998, but was replaced in Fall 1999 by the new NPS-NWC Partnership under which Navy students from all NPS curricula can earn PME and JPME Phase I credit.
