NPS Scheduling Office - Scheduling Office
Event Scheduling
We offer room scheduling services for events such as workshops, conferences, training sessions, and short courses, etc. Our Enterprise Event Scheduling system provides up-to-date information about campus events by publishing space availability from all departmental and administrative units.
Although academic course-related activities have scheduling priority in NPS facilities, most are available for use outside class time for campus-affiliated events, such as study groups, departmental meetings and guest speakers. The Scheduling Office coordinates usage requests to ensure facilities are being used in accordance with NPS policies and guidelines.
Space Utilization Reporting
We provide space utilization reporting to guide policy and resourcing decisions. For more information please contact our office.
NPS departments are responsible for managing their own lab and conference rooms, while adhering to NPS facility policies.

Scheduling Policy
Academic Classroom Scheduling
Class scheduling at NPS is based on student demand. Every student registered in a class must be scheduled into that class, together with the assigned instructor for the class, and without any conflicted classes. The task of producing an equitable and efficient schedule every quarter is complex. It requires balancing the priorities and needs of all academic units within the context of shared university resources that are in high demand and often scarce. In developing the schedule, the following goals must be balanced:
a. Students should be able to take courses needed for graduation in their program in a timely manner.
b. Instructors should be able to obtain schedules that permit them to integrate their professional duties of teaching, research and service in a reasonable way.
c. Classes should be scheduled so as to best utilize teaching resources and classroom facilities.
