Analysis of Pathways to Reach Net Zero Naval Operations by 2050, Phase II

The Phase I Analysis of Pathways to Reach Net Zero Naval Operations quantified Department of the Navy (DoN) operational systems emissions identified potential pathways to meet the 2050 reduction targets directed in Executive Orders and DoD and DON climate strategies. Phase II analysis further considers the DoN unique challenges for integrating emissions reduction measures and climate science to quantify the impact of four specific measures: alternative force structure, nuclear, platform carbon capture and storage, and sustainable fuels.
