The Global Water Security Center: Translating Environmental Data for Security Decisions

The Global Water Security Center (GWSC) is a DoD-funded center at the University of Alabama that develops, maintains, and interprets water and environmental security data and information. GWSC has identified a number of barriers to the uptake and use of water and environmental information in security decisions. Dr. Brauman will discuss GWSC's approach to translating water information for DoD users and present our working framework to help decision makers rapidly understand the linkages from water events to potential insecurity.
