Achievement of our NPS International Alumni.
Our international alumni continue to make remarkable contributions worldwide. Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras, Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, leverages his dual NPS master’s degrees to lead Greece’s naval modernization and strategic initiatives, emphasizing technological innovation in maritime operations. Likewise, Admiral David Johnston, a 1995 NPS graduate, was appointed Chief of the Australian Defence Force in July 2024, becoming the nation’s senior military officer and principal advisor on national security during a critical era for Indo-Pacific stability.
Recent Inductees into the NPS Hall of Fame include: Admiral Guillermo Barrera (Colombian Navy, Ret.), was for his pivotal role in transforming Colombia’s security landscape, and Vice Admiral Alberto Soto (Chilean Navy, Ret.), for decades of distinguished service. Alumni-led initiatives have strengthened global partnerships through events such as the European International Alumni Symposium in Germany (2024) and the Indo-Pacific Symposium in Singapore (2023). These events foster collaboration on topics including artificial intelligence energy security, space systems, and maritime domain awareness. These accomplishments underscore the enduring impact of NPS graduates in advancing innovation, security, and international cooperation.

Congratulations to our Graduates!
In the vibrant and diverse classrooms alongside US peers, international students not only engage in rigorous academic pursuits but also form lasting friendships that transcend cultural boundaries. These friendships often extend beyond the classroom, fostering a supportive community where families can connect and share experiences. Extracurricular trips further enrich this experience, offering opportunities for students and their families to explore new places, learn about different cultures, and create cherished memories together. These activities not only enhance the educational journey but also contribute to a well-rounded and fulfilling life for everyone involved. Please enjoy this short video of our March 2025 graduating class!
