Mission
The Office of the Provost provides the guiding vision and framework for the overall academic leadership and administrative management of the university. Our mission is to administer programs and policies that benefit academic staff, faculty and students, and to foster collaborations among campus colleagues that will enhance and broaden academic life at the university.
Under the leadership of the Provost, the Office of the Provost staff has broad responsibility over numerous campus-wide initiatives, and facilitates and supports the wide array of academic programs and services offered by NPS.

Dear Colleagues,
Like many of you, “how” questions dominate my day. Our problem solving ranges in scale from the specific, “How can I support a teammate with a need?” to the general, “How are we going to transform our school?” At each level, individual through institution, the answers to how we operate are critical to those impacted and our success. Yet, despite this importance, I spend so much time on the “how” that sometimes I fear I forget the “why.” Over the last ten days, the why has come into sharp focus through two experiences.
