Labtainers Installation

The easiest way to get Labtainers is to download one of the virtual machine appliance images and run it on Virtual Box or VMWare.  The VM images are here.

If you have a Linux computer or VM, you can install Labtainers on it directly from this tar file, and then run the install-labtainer.sh script.  Note that Ubuntu 22 and later  (and possibly recent Fedora  version) will not work with Labtainers.)  In any event, we suggest running on a VM for security considerations.

Labtainers is support on the Azure cloud and the Google Cloud Platform, with remote access via a browser.  See the Student Guide for details.  NOTE that due to unpredictable limitations of Azure, the use of free Azure Student Accounts is not recommended.

Labtainers includes a "headless" configuration that can be installed on server VMs and accessed via a browser.  See the description at: https://github.com/mfthomps/Labtainers/blob/master/headless-lite/README.md
