Overview
Dr. Daniel Nussbaum is the Chair, Energy Academic Group and a faculty member in the Operations Research department, at Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. He also teaches cost estimating and cost-benefit analysis, does research, and mentors both faculty and students.
He has been a Principal with Booz Allen Hamilton; Director, Naval Center for Cost Analysis; and has held other management and analysis positions with the US Army and Navy, in the US and in Europe.
He has a BA, in Mathematics and Economics from Columbia University, and a Ph.D., in Mathematics from Michigan State University. He has held post doctoral positions in Econometrics and Operations Research, and in National Security Studies at Washington State University and Harvard University.
He is active in professional societies, is the Past President of the Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis. He has previously been the VP of the Washington chapter of INFORMS, and he has served on the Board of the Military Operations Research Society.
