Intro Tabs Fall 2020

Please join me in congratulating our Fall Quarter graduates!

Message From the President:

Team NPS, please join me in congratulating our Fall Quarter graduates!

On behalf of the Provost, Faculty and Staff we commend your outstanding accomplishments and achievements in your degree programs, research solutions and certifications.

I especially want to thank all of your family members, friends and faculty who supported you as a student and through the extraordinary challenges affecting each one of us – COVID, area wildfires, stay at home orders, distance learning and more – your principled determination, dedication to each other and our national security is awe-inspiring.

Although we cannot be together, I am very pleased to have the Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. David H. Berger lead our graduation video and recorded commencement ceremony. The video also highlights comments from your peers, faculty and staff including congratulatory “shout-outs” from Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf, Vice Adm. Brian Brown, Commander Naval Information Forces and other senior leaders.  The graduation website includes the ceremonial program, recognition of the Fall Quarter awardees and more.

You completed your courses, theses and capstone projects all the while transitioning to distance learning and adapting to the COVID-driven changes both at NPS and at home. We are a diverse military environment from across the country and around the world, and no matter the need you helped each other professionally and personally whenever help was needed. Success is always a team effort, and I thank you for the strong examples you set on and off campus.

Your achievements are significant and come with responsibility. NPS has prepared you to perform and succeed in operational forces at a higher level of leadership. You will bring intellectual advantage and tech-savvy insight to solving problems and leading change the rest of your careers. With knowledge and resolve, YOU are our competitive advantage in the defense of our nation and allies.

Graduates, it is a special time of year made all the more meaningful by conferring your degrees upon you today. I am so very proud of your accomplishments, and wish you all the best! Remember, you are forever part of our NPS community. Be safe as you return, and good luck in your endeavors.

Congratulations, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and well done!

With great respect,
