NPS to Participate in Monterey's Annual Cultural Festival
By MC2 Michael Ehrlich
This weekend, the City of Monterey puts its international flavor in full display during the third annual Language Capital of the World Cultural Festival in downtown's Custom House Plaza, May 7. University students and staff will be on hand during the event to share how NPS' contributes to the region's broad cultural diversity.
"Like NPS' own International Day, the Language Capital of the World Cultural Festival provides a great opportunity to interact with many of the cultures represented in the Monterey community," said Director of the International Graduate Programs Office, retired Navy Capt. Al Scott. "In addition, the LCOW Cultural Festival highlights the many organizations, including NPS and DLI, that help to make Monterey a center of international learning and cooperation."
Last year's event featured American, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Middle Eastern cuisine and a wide array of entertainment to include Filipino, Spanish and Pakistani folk dancing. For more information, check out the LCOW Festival website at http://lcowfest.com.
